Other pet food records a value sales growth of 7% in 2013. This healthy performance is largely driven by the increasing popularity of fish and small mammals, namely rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters. Slower estimated national income growth magnifies Thais' interest in other pets as they are lower priced to buy and relatively cheaper to look after when compared with dogs and cats. Regarding distribution channels, pet shops remains the main channel to supply other pet food.
