Sweden has remained one of the best performing economies in the region, with an annual average growth of 3.19% during 2000-07. The economy contracted by 0.61% in 2008 and by 5% in 2009 but bounced back in 2010 to grow 6.46%. Growth dipped again in 2011 to 3.71% and 1.20% in 2012.
