Cigarettes in the Philippines - New Market Study Published
The year 2012 appeared to be a positive one for cigarettes, with volume sales bouncing back. This is largely due to 2012 being a year with no tax increase on cigarettes; the last increase had been in January 2011, which had been part of the latest regulation of a tax increase every two years. Alongside this, the improved Philippine economy towards 2012 seems to have benefited cigarettes, especially with the higher purchasing power for the average family.
