The performance of food preparation appliances in 2013 demonstrates the current thinking pattern of Dutch consumers. They are reluctant to buy expensive major appliances, but do want to spoil themselves at times and thus opt for cheaper alternatives. More people enjoy cooking and this is more often done at home with premium appliances. The growth in both volume and value terms shows that food preparation appliances was not at all affected by the economic crisis.
