Inflation impacted on selling fragrances in Argentina in 2013. Due to annual inflation rate of 28%, consumers' purchasing power was reduced and before the deceleration of demand, fragrance companies took the initiative to boost sales with promotions and discounts. This strategy was a key factor in a category in which imported products were restricted due to the limitations on imports imposed by the government since late 2011.
