Due to low consumer confidence resulting from the economic decline, growth for health and wellness beverages slowed prior to 2011. However, in 2012 and 2013, there were promising signs, with value growth picking up again to healthy levels by the end of the review period. Dutch consumers' interest in healthier food and beverage products continues to strengthen, and when budgets allow, they remain keen to purchase such products.
