"Eyewear in France" Published
Once again, eyewear posted positive volume growth in 2014, driven mostly by a stronger need for the correction of visual impairment. Population growth and, in particular, the ageing population are important contributing factors to this stronger demand. In contrast, value growth of eyewear was not so dynamic. Fierce competition at a retailing level, notably due to the rise of internet sales, generated more pressure on prices and weakened the growth rate of value sales.
