Zinc market is facing a supply surplus affecting the current prices. However, some mines in Canada are expected to exhaust in 2014 and cause a demand supply gap resulting in price rise. New mines are being developed by Canadian Zinc, Donner Metals and Trevali Mining to match supply with demand after shutdown of the exhausting mines. Additionally, Chinese zinc mines are also expected to respond with an increased production to cover-up the demand supply gap and keep the prices low.
