HIV-associated lipodystrophy is associated with HIV infection or due to side effects of drugs used for HIV infection. The HIV-associated lipodystrophy clusters different clinical conditions, which are lipoaccumulation and lipoatrophy. While lipoaccumulation is associated with increase in visceral fat, lipoatrophy is related to subcutaneous fat loss.
