An ancient 800-year-old wine shop in Wye is set to reopen, due to the ambitious designs of owner Patrick Keegan. Located in Upper Bridge Street, the medieval undercroft is believed to have been a store stocking wine imported from Bordeaux, France in the late 13th Century. Restoration works have been under way for the past 18 months, to open the grade 2, listed cellar to the public. Evo Promotions Managing Director Georgina Smith commented, calling it an “an interesting project and a great example of how determination and focus can really achieve great things.”

Military Wives Choir members said they were still “pinching themselves” as they announced their Christmas number one single had raised more than half a million pounds for charity. The song Wherever You Are, which used lines from the wives’ love letters to their husbands serving in Afghanistan, was the fastest-selling charity single since Elton John’s Candle In The Wind in 1997, the Official Charts Company confirmed. Managing Director of Cascade, a sales and marketing company, said “Here at Cascade, we believe in success from within. The military wives’ success in raising £500,000 is incredible and all down to how they feel. Their lyrics, which are taken from letters they wrote to their husbands is a prime example of success from within.”

All 15 Suffolk and Norfolk MPs have called on the government for investment in the Great Eastern Main Line. A letter sent to Transport Secretary Philip Hammond criticizes the speed, infrastructure and rolling stock on the line that links the region with London. This investment is vital for the development of the area. The managing director of Morton Solutions agrees with the above statement saying, ‘public transport is something that so many of us don’t really think about on a day to day basis until something goes wrong. Only when the trains or busses are down do we realize how reliant we are on the transportation system. This is exactly the reason why every effort needs to be made to make sure that transportation is convenient and safe for everyone.’

A striking demonstration of a means to boost the information-carrying capacity of radio waves has taken place across the lagoon in Venice, Italy. The technique exploits what is called the "orbital angular momentum" of the waves - imparting them with a "twist". The approach is described in the New Journal of Physics, could be applied to radio, wi-fi, and television. Our source from Dragao Porto has said “This is another fantastic breakthrough for technology designed to make watching TV and using the wi-fi more efficient for the every day users. The twists will permit many data streams to fit the frequency spread normally used for just one” The parts of the electromagnetic spectrum that are used for all three are split up in roughly the same way, with a spread of frequencies allotted to each channel.
