Goodpasture syndrome is a rare autoimmune disease which affects both the kidneys and lungs. In this syndrome, antibodies are produced against a specific region of collagen in the lungs and kidneys. This syndrome includes conditions such as glomerulonephritis, i.e., inflammation of glomeruli, the presence of anti-GBM (glomerular basement membrane) antibodies, and bleeding in the lungs.
