Tobacco in Austria - New Market Research Report
The Austrian tobacco market registered both a good value and volume performance in 2011. The main factor behind value growth was higher unit prices due to rises in taxation in 2011. Volume sales also increased, although to a lesser extent than value sales. Tobacco products benefited from a stable number of smokers who shifted to cheaper brands rather than quit smoking altogether.
