In 2012, spreads become more popular in the country due to increasingly busy lifestyles and a strong need for "convenient" food. Jams and preserves are amongst the most popular types of spreads which are usually eaten with bread, sandwiches or plain biscuits and crackers. Consumption is mainly amongst the younger generations, especially students and office workers, as well as expats.
