Just Released: "Drinking Milk Products in Guatemala"
Drinking milk products enjoyed 7% value growth in 2012 to reach sales of GTQ4,637 million. Cow's milk is the most popular product, and fresh/pasteurised milk is the strongest category representing 46% of total value sales. Guatemala's per capita consumption of milk is 38 litres, which is below Mexico's consumption of 40 litres, and Latin America's average of 52 litres. Lack of refrigerators and high unit prices make drinking milk products unaffordable to lower economic strata in the country.
