Vacuum cleaners in Germany remained resilient to the negative effects of the adverse economic situation in 2012 as volume sales increased by 1% and value sales increased by 3%. Cylinder vacuum cleaners comprised the majority of volume sales of vacuum cleaners overall in 2012. Cylinder vacuum cleaners accounted for 62% of total vacuum cleaners retail volume sales in standard vacuum cleaners in 2012.
