New product development, cross-branding and price competitiveness represent the most important trends influencing the development of chocolate confectionery in Bulgaria during 2012. Despite the impact of the economic slowdown, Bulgaria's chocolate confectionery producers continue to launch new products, mainly extensions to existing product lines. Genuine new product launches remained negligible in chocolate confectionery in Bulgaria during the first half of 2012.
