Sales of spreads in 2011 and 2012 were marked by a sudden turnaround. Whilst the middle of the review period witnessed the decline of speculoos-based spreads, 2011 and 2012 enjoyed the counterattack of Nutella by Ferrero and especially the entrance of new brands and players in chocolate spreads - Balade Chocolate in 2010 and Kwatta Choco & Nuts in 2011.
