The category saw growth of 2% in 2012, which represented a slowdown from the 3% CAGR seen over the review period. The area allocated to potato production continued to decrease in Mexico. Potatoes are primarily produced in the states of Mexico, Sinaloa, Sonora, Nuevo Leon, Chihuahua and Veracruz, altogether representing 68% of national production.
