There appears to have been no significant improvement regarding the finding of a solution to regular dengue fever outbreaks in the Philippines despite continued government efforts to increase public awareness regarding prevention of the disease. Some 328 deaths caused by the disease were recorded between January 1 and July 14, 2012, - an increase from the 203 recorded over the same period in 2011.
