Just Released: "Travel and Tourism in Malta"
Malta is a small archipelago with an estimated population of approximately 419,000 inhabitants. Although the country enjoys a certain economic stability, with GDP growth of around 1%, its small population presents an obstacle to the growth potential of travel retail and transportation, which are highly dependent on residents. By contrast, travel accommodation grew in 2012 thanks to the strength of tourism flows inbound.
