Surface care sales grew by 8% in current value terms in 2012, compared to the 7% CAGR witnessed over the review period. The main product type, multi-purpose cleaners, accounted for 67% of retail value sales in 2012. Manufacturers invested in marketing and promotions of multi-purpose cleaners to continue to improve its performance, with smaller pack sizes boosting affordability and use.
