Traditional Chinese medicine has long been a part of local Chinese culture and is well recognised by Taiwanese for its function to prevent illnesses or diseases. It is also considered less harmful to chemical supplements or Western medicine by many Taiwanese. As a result, herbal/traditional products in Taiwan enjoyed steady growth over the review period. In 2012, the market sizes continued to see strong growth of 7% in current value terms.
