Air care saw the sharpest current value sales decline in overall home care in 2012 over the previous year at 6%. This was linked to a number of factors. Many product areas saw volume sales decline in 2012, with consumers seeking to reduce their spending as a result of ongoing economic worries. Many consumers furthermore view air care as a non-essential product, while there was a shift towards creative home-made alternatives, such as unwanted fragrances or essential oils.
