Fine wines/Champagne and spirits saw a slight slowdown in growth to approximately 14% in value terms, reaching RM61 million in 2012. Growth was supported by the increase in overall consumption of alcoholic drinks in Malaysia. Recovery from the global recession continued steadily in 2012, with 5% GDP growth, supporting growth in alcoholic drinks' consumption. Slower growth in 2012 reflected the maturity of fine wines/Champagne and spirits.
