Together with new launches and marketing activities, macroeconomic stability in Macedonia helped to sustain modest growth in total alcoholic drinks volume and current value sales in 2012. However, the performance of the entire market was undermined by the fallout from the eurozone debt crisis, which dampened consumer confidence and limited the pace of recovery in the domestic economy. Spirits were worst affected by these trends, with total volume sales declining for the third year in a row.
