Toilet care recorded a marginal decline in retail value sales in 2012. This was largely due to the decline in value sales in toilet liquids in 2012. There was limited promotion of toilet liquids and the category has reached saturation. The category also has to contend with competition from other products, such as bathroom cleaners, where consumers do not see the need to have different products for similar functions.
