New Market Study, "Starchy Roots in Spain", Has Been Published
Total volume sales of starchy roots increased by 2% in 2012, rising to 1.4 million tonnes following two years of declines, which involved total volume sales of starchy roots declining by 8% in 2012 and by 4% in 2011. Nevertheless, total volume sales of starchy roots in 2012 were the second lowest annual figures for the entire review period after 2011. Despite the steady increase in population experienced in Spain during the 2000s, consumption of starchy roots have consistently declined.
