New Market Study, "Homewares in the Netherlands", Has Been Published
Sales in the homewares category were supported by a clear trend towards home cooking in 2012. In response to the uncertain economic outlook, Dutch consumers cut back on visits to restaurants and bars in an attempt to reduce living costs. To make up for the lost experience of eating out, consumers became more interested in putting together a pleasant and comforting meal at home. In this regard, more emphasis was placed on the style and design of homewares.
