Total cider volumes in 2012 stood at around 66 million litres, equating to a slight 1% decline on 2011. Cider volumes were affected by the poor summer weather and a lower-than-expected boost from the European Football Championship. Irish consumers drink more cider than anyone else in the world, consuming around 15 litres of cider per capita per annum.
