New Market Report Now Available: Homewares in Argentina
The year 2012 was marked by a slowdown in economic growth, which adversely impacted the purchasing power of consumers. Given the negative scenario in employment and wages, Argentinians spent more time cooking and more time at home, driving sales of homewares. According to the trade press, demand in restaurants and bars fell by 10% in turnover terms in the first half of 2012, a considerable drop given that Argentina had a general inflation rate of 25%.
