New Market Research Report: Cigars in Uruguay
Uruguay does not have a tradition of cigars and cigarillos smoking and with the exception of some high-income consumers who do smoke cigars regularly, the vast majority of cigars and cigarillos consumers are occasional smokers. The traditionally high prices of Cuban handmade cigars, which became even more expensive with the tax adjustments during the review period, have put these products out of the reach of even some of the most affluent consumers.
