New Market Report: Full-Service Restaurants in New Zealand
In 2012, consumers continued to exhibit bargain-hunting behaviour, particularly with regard to full-service restaurants. This category continued to be viewed as the most expensive consumer foodservice channel, with consumers still focused on price. Furthermore, restaurateurs were faced with rising fuel, energy and particularly food prices. However, many businesses felt that they were unable to pass on input cost increases to consumers in the fear that this would dampen demand further.
