Recent Study: Mobile Phones in the United Kingdom
Mobile phones saw a decline of 3% in retail value terms in 2013. Despite the first timid signs of economic recovery, consumer's confidence remained low. Moreover, the lack of significant innovation in smartphones contributed to the decline of the category. As the devices are no longer viewed as a luxury item, mobile phone manufacturers are looking to build cheaper mobile phones in order to capture greater shares and maintain growth.
