Breakfast cereals posted very strong 19% current value growth in 2013, backed up by a dynamic 10% volume increase. Breakfast cereals continued to be perceived as children's products, with local producers offering affordable prices helping volume sales. The strong presence of international premium brands resulted in a good value performance, aided by the dual positioning of domestic standard and economy brands, which enabled a double-digit volume performance.
