New Market Study Published: Alcoholic Drinks in Latvia
Total beer volume sales dropped by 1% in 2013, caused by consumers' shift towards more expensive brands, such as premium products and craft beer. The share of economy beer declined from 44% in 2012 to 42% in 2013, which resulted in a total beer market decline. Whilst total market volume sales of economy brands decreased by 5%, premium brands posted 5% growth in 2013, although the last still accounted for just 23% of total beer volume sales.
