Australian consumers are on a global and healthy cooking adventure, diversifying their cooking habits, with two thirds of consumers introducing new vegetables into their weekly shop over the 2008-2013 review period. Over 60% of consumers have added new vegetables to their weekly meals with sweet potato, broccoli and bok choy the "rising stars of the vegetable world," said Andrew White, Manager of Industry Development and Communications at AUSVEG.
