There are several low-cost and portable cell monitoring devices in the pipeline. Currently there are some portable automated CD4+ T-cell counters in the market such as PointCare NOW (Paratec, Pima Test (Alere), Daktari CD4+ (Daktari). These devices use 25 microliters of blood and provide the results on the same day. The PointCare NOW and CyFlow mini POC measures the absolute CD4+ T-cell count.
