Global Protective Relays Market to Grow at a CAGR of 3.22% over 2015-2019
Protective relays are used in transmission and distribution of electricity to register overcurrent, overvoltage, and reverse power flow to avoid accidents or flashovers. It trips the circuit breaker when a fault is detected. If there is any discrepancy or abnormality in the current voltage or any other power measurement, the relay detects it and triggers an alarm. There are three types of protective relays: electromechanical relays, solid state relays, and digital relays.
