The first individual with X-linked Mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) was first reported in 1917 by a clinician named Hunter. Hunter syndrome is known to occur almost exclusively in males and is characterized by distinctive facial features such as puffy lips, a large head, large rounded cheeks, a broad nose, and an enlarged tongue (macroglossia).
