William Peace University Announces Partnership With Wake Technical Community College

William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced Transfer2Success, a partnership with Wake Technical Community College offering students a community college transfer program. Once a student has completed two and a half years of education at Wake Tech, this program will allow the student admission to William Peace University, with the ability to earn a bachelor’s degree from the latter in one and a half years. Program transfer students, who will be taught by William Peace University faculty members, will have the option to take the remaining courses needed in earning their bachelor’s degree on the campus of Wake Tech. An official agreement was signed between Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., William Peace University president, and Stephen C. Scott, Ed.D., Wake Technical Community College president, on Nov. 3.

The North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association has announced that Gov. Bev Perdue has signed a proclamation announcing November 2011 as Safe Pet Travel Awareness Month in North Carolina and urging citizens to commend observance. Nearly 90 percent of pet owners indicate that they travel with their pets, and the AAA Auto Club and American Veterinary Medical Association recommend that people use restraints on dogs and cats to prevent harm to the animals, the driver and other passengers. The proclamation states that pets should not ride in the front passenger seat because of the risk of injury from a deploying airbag. In the event of a crash, restraining a pet prevents the animal from running off and possibly getting hit by another vehicle, causing another crash or causing distraction to first responders.
