Local New York Life Office Makes Grant to Support the United Way of the Greater Triangle

Campbell University Law Faculty Member Appointed to Governor’s Crime Commission

Melissa Essary, dean of the Campbell University Norman A. Wiggins School of Law, has announced that Professor Jon Powell has been appointed to the juvenile planning committee of the Governor’s crime commission. As a committee member, Powell will be responsible for advising Gov. Bev Perdue on all issues of juvenile crime across the state as well as determining where federal dollars should go to sponsor programs to address these issues. Powell was recommended to the governor for the committee by Linda Hayes, secretary of the N.C. Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Powell is the director of the Juvenile Justice Project at the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.
