In what is an extremely saturated category, private label operator, Tesco, led value sales in 2013 with a value share of 20%. This was down slightly on the previous year. The company posted relatively strong sales within cat litter and was the category leader in other pet products with a 24% value share and the number two player in pet dietary supplements with a 17% share of the category.
