The home insecticides category saw a weak performance over the review period and the 1% rise recorded in 2012 was the strongest growth since 2006. In general, however, products in the home insecticides category have suffered from bad publicity and supermarkets are very conscious of ensuring that they do not damage their public image. Home insecticides occupy a small space on supermarket shelves, and in small retail outlets only occupy a couple of shelves, with poor visibility.
