RTDs/high-strength premixes was under-developed in China, with low volume sales and a limited range of products, with only spirit-based RTDs enjoying considerable sales scale in China. All of the other categories, such as high-strength premixes and malt- and wine-based RTDs, remained negligible in 2012. A late entry into China, low product awareness, a less wide product presence and the dominant positions of other alcoholic drinks, may be the major reasons behind the low volume sales.
