New Market Research Report: Meat in Spain
Total volume sales of meat in Spain declined marginally in 2012, remaining on 2.2 million tonnes, the lowest growth witnessed in the category since 2005. Meat is the third largest fresh food category after fruits and vegetables and continued to register negative growth rates for the fourth consecutive year during 2012. The lacklustre performance of meat in Spain is being driven by the poor performance of lamb, mutton and goat and, to a lesser extent, beef.
