Eggs in Spain - New Market Report
After years of falling egg consumption among Spanish consumers, total volume sales recovered towards the end of the review period with a rise of 2% in 2013. Eggs are among the staple food types that have benefited from the difficult economic conditions in the country, as well as high and rising unemployment rates, with more consumers turning to this basic fresh food. While foodservice volume continued to decline in 2013, retail volume sales posted healthy growth of 4%.
