New Market Study Published: Financial Cards and Payments in Japan
Transaction value within financial cards continued to grow in 2012. The earthquake in eastern Japan slowed down card payments in 2011 due to lower consumer spending. However, this trend did not continue in 2012 and the shift towards financial cards as opposed to cash continued.
