In 2012, current value sales reached GTQ31 million after a 9% increase. 99% of current value sales come from sun protection products, with lower use of aftersun or self-tanning items. Consumers continued to favour products with high SPF which is why most companies offered a wide range of protection factors and included high SPFs. Higher awareness among key consumers aided performance, especially as it allows companies to continue to keep increasing prices above inflation levels.
