Recent Study: Sports and Energy Drinks in Algeria
Sports and energy drinks registered 10% total volume growth and 18% total value growth in 2013. The category continued to generate low levels of volume sales, however, the presence of standard brands, such as Burn (Fruital Coca-Cola Spa) and Xploza (Promasidor Djazair) manufactured under license in Algeria, contributed to the sales expansion from middle-income earners, targeting teenagers and young adults, who continued to perceive energy drinks as a fashionable beverage.
