Konas started as a small leather artesian company focused on very high quality bags, luggage and shoes. About 2 years ago, their bags were lost and never found during a vacation. This had a severe impact on their holiday. This is when they agreed that they never want anyone else to go through the same issues.
The husband wife duo spent the next two years researching materials, luggage, wheels, handles, attachments, and linings. They built and tested numerous luggages using all kinds of materials until they found the right combination of everything. Then an IT team was assembled to see if they could build a traceable piece of luggage. The team is now in the process of developing the tracking device and the application that will make sure no user will ever lose his/her luggage again.
At present, Konas has their full production facility for both the tracking chip and the luggage. They have two distribution centers, the main plant being in Riga, Latvia. Their distribution center is in Dubai, UAE.
Konas has set a funding goal of $300,000 for this project. The money will go directly to finishing the application for Smartphone, mobile device and desktop.
